Bay of pigs. From Varadero we rode 140 km south through sugar cane plantations and ecological reserves to the off the beaten path along the Bay of Pigs. The next day we followed a “goat trail” travelling east along the coast to the Cienfuegos straight. This 80 km ride is one of my best ride of all times through mangrove forests growing along the volcanic shoreline. We saw less than a dozen people all day in this tropical paradise.
