Dear Friends and Supporters of Newcomers,

One of the questions I’m frequently asked is: “How can I help newcomers?”

The most impactful thing you can do is simple—mention our names in rooms we don’t yet have access to.

For many newcomers, it can take at least a year to meet the regulatory requirements necessary to work in our professional fields. In the meantime, we often seek what are commonly referred to as “survival jobs.” But even those can be difficult to obtain.

Many of us arrive with a wealth of knowledge, experience, and transferable skills—skills that remain untapped because we aren’t yet connected to the networks or opportunities that would allow us to contribute meaningfully.

Every newcomer has a story of sending out countless applications without a single callback. That silence can be discouraging, but your advocacy can make a difference.

So please—speak our names. Mention the Indian pharmacist who could drive innovation. Mention the Caribbean doctor who would thrive as a patient coordinator. Share our names, our strengths, and our potential in the spaces we’re not yet able to enter.

Thank you for your continued support.
