Some of the most popular high performance cars of the late 1960s and 1970s were Dodge products such as the Darts, Roadrunners, Swingers and Demons. They were lightweight, powerful and were very affordable because of their simplistic designs and optional flexibility which would allow buyers to order with the bare necessities to shed weight which would translate into higher rear wheel horsepower. The late Gary Dunbar was one of those dedicated Dodge car owners for his entire life going back to the late 1960s. Throughout his life he owned a multitude of Dodge products. And he maintained them in impeccable condition. Many of his cars are still on the road today. That is a testament to the passion that he had for classic cars. In speaking with his son Mike (another Dodge Classic Car Enthusiast) he spoke of how his Dad in years past pulled up to a 4 way stop in one of his classic cars and it just happened that the other 3 cars at the stop were owned by his Dad at one time or another. That encounter was a pure coincidence and a memorable one that was relayed to his son Mike, and a memory that Mike cherishes The late Gary left his son Mike his two prized possessions, a 1974 Roadrunner GTX with a 440 engine and a 2004 Rumble Bee Truck, 2 highly sought after Classic vehicles. Mike spoke about how fortunate he is to be the owner of these 2 outstanding Classic vehicles but more so because they were owned by his Dad. And it just happens that Mike owns his own 1973 Roadrunner too. As well both cars are silver in colour and how great is that! The car photos are illustrations only and not Gary’s actual cars.
