As promised I created this feature to address the interest and questions about the my platform boots seen in the pic of our 50th Wedding Anniversay feature. They were called Master John Boots and were sold in the early Seventies in a store located at 326 Queen Street between Bruce and Elgin St. In the early Seventies Master John Boots were very fashionable. Band members such as the band Kiss and David Bowie would wear them or similar ones when performing so their popularity carried over to fans of that era. The commercial styles were not as extreme as the ones shown in the pic but none the less they were very stylish. Photo courtesy of Instagram. Forum comments courtesy of Sault Museum and Instagram.
