I don’t get out much these days because of mobility issues, but am hoping to get to Amanda Rheaume’s free concert on the Village Media stage at the Downtown Plaza, 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 24. I was dumbstruck a month or so ago when I first heard her singing this song about Métis families being forced from their homes at Agawa Bay. According to the song, the settlement was burned down by the government to make way for a provincial park. She also has a song about Steve Powley.
